Elopements in Catalonia
Elopement in Barcelona
Marry just the two of you, among medieval stone, Mediterranean terraces and viewpoints with the city and the sea at your feet. We document it in photo and video, with no forced poses.
Why elope in Barcelona
Few cities let you begin the day on top of a hill with a sea of rooftops below and end it with your feet in the sand. That is Barcelona: a dense, living city that, ten minutes away, opens onto the Collserola hills, the gardens of Montjuïc and beaches that at dawn are yours alone. That contrast —stone and sea, city and forest— makes an elopement here unlike any other.
An elopement is really getting married, but stripped back to what matters: the two of you (or a very small group) and what counts, with no protocol. We are two brothers, Eric on video and Ferran on photo, working four-handed: while one chases the light, the other stays close so you forget we are there.
Where to do it: our favourite spots
Real corners of Barcelona that work especially well for an intimate ceremony or for the photos and video of the day. Each has its own hour and its own light.
Búnquers del Carmel (Turó de la Rovira)
The most photogenic 360° views of the city, with the sea on one side and Tibidabo on the other. It fills with people at sunset, so we go at sunrise: you get the hilltop almost to yourselves and a golden light that money cannot buy.
Parc del Laberint d'Horta
The city's oldest romantic gardens, from the 18th century, with the cypress maze, temples and ponds. Daily visitors are capped, and that works in your favour: real privacy and a setting that feels of another era.
Jardins de Laribal and Montjuïc
Mediterranean-inspired terraces, pergolas and stone stairways with the city below. Our place for soft morning light among bougainvillea.
Carretera de les Aigües (Collserola)
A long balcony over the whole of Barcelona, with city and sea in the same frame. Ideal for a quiet moment away from the noise.
Barceloneta and Bogatell beach at dawn
The Mediterranean without crowds is only possible very early. At dawn the sand is clean, the light is pink and the water is yours: perfect for ending the day barefoot.
Gothic Quarter and Plaça de Sant Felip Neri
Medieval stone, shadows and a hidden square with a fountain that feels out of time. In the alleys light bounces between the façades: very cinematic, best first thing.
Permits and things to keep in mind
Being honest about this saves you trouble. The Parc del Laberint d'Horta caps daily visitors and charges an entry fee (free on Wednesdays and Sundays); tripods or professional shoots often need to be booked or authorised in advance. Professional photo sessions in Barcelona's municipal parks and on some beaches can require a permit from the City Council.
The Búnquers del Carmel are freely open to the public but very busy at sunset —which is why we suggest the morning. We advise you spot by spot, tell you where something has to be arranged and, when needed, sort it out with you. We do not promise what cannot be done; we find the alternative that can.
When to do it: the best time of year
Our favourite months are late spring (May and June) and autumn (September and October): gentle temperatures, gardens full of life and a long, warm light. We steer clear of August because of the heat and the tourist crowds.
Winter has a charm few people make use of: low, soft light, little tourism and a calmer city. If the cold does not scare you, a clear January morning at the bunkers or in the Gothic Quarter can be among the most beautiful of the year.
How the day works
Barcelona is easy to reach: high-speed AVE, local trains, metro and airport. We come from Reus in just over an hour by AVE or car, so we can be there very early. We plan the day around golden hour: a sunrise start for the viewpoints and empty beaches.
The day usually flows across two or three nearby locations, so you do not spend it inside the car. It works whether it is just the two of you or you bring a very small group; what matters is having room to breathe and not to watch the clock. We handle the pace so you don't have to.
Why Barcelona is special
Barcelona lets you have it all in one day without choosing: the stone of the Gothic Quarter, gardens that feel from another century, the Collserola hills and the Mediterranean. For an elopement that is a gift: you can marry among centuries of history in the morning and end the day barefoot on the sand, all on the same day. We document it exactly as it is, staging nothing that is not you.
Our work
These images are from our real portfolio of weddings and couples across Catalonia, not from an elopement in Barcelona (we have not yet photographed one in the city). We show them so you can see how we look at couples and how we handle light and moments.
Our real work
Real weddings and couples we have documented. This is how we see — the same eye we bring to an elopement.

Frequently asked questions
Is an elopement legal? Do we really get married?
Yes. You can hold the symbolic ceremony wherever you like; the legal civil formality is completed at the relevant registry or town hall, and many elopements combine both. We guide you, but the legal marriage is arranged with the administration.
How many people can come?
An elopement is small by nature: from just the two of you to a very small group of family or friends. There is no minimum; what we are after is intimacy, not a wedding in disguise.
Do you shoot photo and video together?
Yes, and it is our signature. We are two brothers: Ferran shoots photo and Eric shoots video, four-handed on the same day. You do not have to hire two teams that have never met.
Do you only work in Barcelona?
No. We come from Reus and cover all of Catalonia: Siurana, the Priorat, the Costa Daurada, the Ebre Delta, Tarragona and, of course, Barcelona. If you are torn between places, we help you choose.
When will we receive the photos?
We send a selection in about a week so you can relive the day right away, and the full gallery and the video afterwards, within the timeframes we agree.
